SASSA has recently provided South Africa with three digital interfaces (WhatsApp, email and SMS) to access Social Grants.
There have been some security risks with the use of WhatsApp and SMS in terms of fraudulent applications for grants.
Our Kofax team developed a solution whereby the communities affected are able to securely send their application forms via email, which will then be validated to mitigate fraud risks (e.g. multiple applications).
In just two days, the team provided SASSA with a configured and built email form solution.
The data in the completed form gets automatically classified and pulls out the required information, so that SASSA is able to accurately and efficiently process applications for payment.
This solution reduces some of the pressure on the SASSA walk-in and call centres.
